Susan is also a 25 year-member of RWA and is also a member of the Published Authors Network and belongs to the local chapter of RWA, Central Pennsylvania Romance Writers. An independent, small press has published 27 of her novels, the majority written under her pen name, Susan Kelley.

Susan is a mother to five sons and one daughter and is a grandmother to two granddaughters. She lives in a large country home outside of Hershey, PA along with her husband.

Presenting the award to Susan was the 2021 winner, former Pennwriters President, Hilary Hauck. Here's a littel information about Hilary from her website:

"Hilary Hauck is an Italian-speaking Brit living in the US. Called ‘an extraordinary novel’ by The Midwest Book Review, her debut novel, From Ashes to Song, was inspired by the true story of three Italians who immigrated to Pennsylvania ninety years before she did. Her short stories have appeared in anthologies in the Mindful Writers Retreat Series and Like Sunshine After Rain. Her poems have appeared in The Ekphrastic Review, Balloons Lit Journal, and Centered magazine. She is the current Chair of the Festival of Books in the Alleghenies."
