I began writing back in 2012 when I got involved with NaNoWriMo. I had numerous stories and ideas floating around from my days in the classroom as an English teacher. The first book I wrote during the NaNo season in 2012 ended up being okay. I decided to go the self-publishing route since I had difficulty in securing an agent to represent my novel. I did have a few interests, but those agents had already taken on a novel with similar situations – therefore, they turned me down. Unfortunately, my trip into self-publishing hasn’t been very good. I have had some good and bad reviews of my book. Sales have been stagnant. All of this has hurt my confidence as an aspiring writer.
A friend of mine who is part of NWPA NaNoWriMo as well as Pennwriters told me that I should consider joining Pennwriters again. So, I am back. My ultimate goal would be to learn how to get better and publish novels that people want to purchase and read.
