Pennwriters started out as a state-wide writing organization in Pennsylvania. The state was divided into six geographical areas. As time went by, some members moved out of state but wanted to continue with the organization, so Area 7 was formed. Area 7 members are any individuals outside of the Pennsylvania–from across the U.S. and abroad. The interactive map can take you to the various Area pages with just one click. There is basic information on each Area below. Many members on the borders between Areas choose to participate in events in both Areas and decide which Area they would like to be officially affiliated with. Pennwriters Area events are open to all members, regardless of home Area. Each Area has it’s own page with helpful information about local writing events. The Pennwriters Calendar of Events lists all Area events and will note the Area in the heading. You can also find a list of standing Area Meetings here.
